It Takes a Village
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal (BGCBN). Our volunteers are fundamental to our mission and the success of our organization. Our # 1 commitment is to provide a safe place for our members, our staff, our volunteers, and everyone who walks through our doors. As a volunteer, we ask for your support in helping us provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment for our Club.
Types of Volunteers at BGCBN
There are several ways for you to connect with the Club:
Impact Volunteer - Those who create meaningful connections with our kids by sharing their expertise by planning and implementing a four week program focusing on our pillars: Education & STEM, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, Citizenship & Service Learning, Teen Service & Career Exploration, Arts & Culture. Four week session consist of 1 hour per week for four weeks.
Support Volunteer - Every day the Club Support Volunteers work to assist in our important educational programming, helping BGCBN achieve its mission to empower all youth. You can find them engaging with members in Power Hour, our homework help and tutoring program, Social Recreation or contributing their time and talents to behind-the-scenes administrative areas.
Done-In-A-Day Volunteer - This volunteer opportunity allows you, as an individual or as part of a group, to step into the Club without making a substantial time commitment or completing any onboarding steps. These volunteers share details from their professional careers with members, provide a hands on activity/experience for our members, facilitate a program for our parents and families and/or work to improve our Club environment both inside and out. If you are interested in a done-in-a-day experience, please email Leslie Adams, Family & Volunteer Coordinator, ladams@bgcbn.org.
Leadership Volunteer Roles – This opportunity is to explore you leadership in the Club. This could be joining a committee, a specific function at the Club and mentoring our team.
